Ultralight Plane Crash near Brandy Creek in the Whitsundays

There were no fatalities after a Bingo 45 ultralight aircraft crashed on a property at Brandy Creek, 2km off Shute Harbour Road, near Airlie Beach, in the Whitsundays on Thursday 19 January.


The 64-year-old pilot, 35-year-old passenger and three-year-old boy were taking off from a private airstrip off Forestry Rd at about 12.55pm, when it clipped trees and crashed into a clearing on a nearby property.

All three crash victims were taken to Proserpine Hospital with severe bone fractures.
