What a Wednesday at Rockhampton Airport - RNZAF B757 NZ7572 and RAAF BAe Hawks

After arriving on Tuesday 12 June, the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) Boeing B757-200, NZ7572, departed Rockhampton Airport early on Wednesday 13 June for RAAF Base Pearce in West Australia.  It reportedly used the callsign "KIWI 270" again.

Later on Wednesday 13 June, Rockhampton residents got a big surprise when three Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) British Aerospace (BAe) Hawk 127 jets visited Rockhampton Airport.  Details are still a bit sketchy, however two of the three Hawks departed late in the day for an unknown destination.

We thank Glenn B who was in the right place at the right time and captured Hawks A27-09 and A27-20 departing in the crisp afternoon light.

We hope to bring more photos later!
