More Virgin Australia Flights for Rockhampton Airport



Virgin Australia has announced on Tuesday 3 July, that they plan to increase the number flights into Rockhampton Airport, adding almost 1,500 seats per week into the Rockhampton market.

As reported last week, on Monday 25 June, Virgin Australia services between Rockhampton and Townsville increased from four to six flights per week. The new flights, operated by Skywest Airlines ATR 72-500 aircraft on Mondays and Wednesdays, mean Virgin Australia now offers direct flights between Rockhampton and Townsville every day of the week, except Saturdays.


Announced today was that from Wednesday 11 July, Virgin Australia will also increase direct flights between Rockhampton and Sydney from four to six per week, delivering direct flights between Rockhampton and Sydney every day of the week, except Saturdays.

Also announced was plans that from Monday 6 August, Rockhampton Airport will see a revised daily Virgin Australia flight schedule to Brisbane, featuring a new early morning 6.30am departure – more than an hour earlier than the current first flight of the day.


The schedule change will also deliver an increase in direct services between Rockhampton and Brisbane from six to seven flights daily, Monday through Friday, and from five to six flights on Saturday.
