Rockhampton Airport Spotting on Friday

Jamie C ventured to Rockhampton on Friday 30 November, and of course, he paid a visit to Rockhampton Airport for a bit of Plane Spotting!

Jamie spotted Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 VH-ZPI parked on the Rockhampton Airport apron.

After taking a couple of photos of VH-ZPI on the apron, it soon taxied away, and back-tracked for departure off Rockhampton Airport's Runway 15.

Soon after, QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXJ followed the preceding Embraer, also back-tracking and departing Runway 15 at Rockhampton Airport.

Singapore Flying College Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-VSQ was spotted by Jamie touching down on Runway 15.  VH-VSQ was joined by sister-ship VH-SQW which was also noted at Rockhampton Airport on Friday 30 November.

Both aircraft were also noted at Mackay Airport on Friday 30 November, and flew from the Sunshine Coast to Rockhampton and then to Mackay.

Several interesting light aircraft were also noted by Jamie at Rockhampton Airport on Friday 30 November. First, Cessna 182 VH-SHY was spotted.  This aircraft is currently being operated by the Rockhampton Aero Club.

Cessna 414A VH-JYY continues to fly all over Central Queensland, with the aircraft also being noted at Clermont and Emerald on Friday 30 November.

Argyle Charter Pilatus PC-12/47 VH-WPH was spotted by Jamie departing Rockhampton for Emerald.

Lastly, a small grass fire was spotted by Jamie on the Western side of Rockhampton Airport.  The Airport Fire Service reportedly had the fire under control pretty quickly!

Thanks Jamie for your great photos - despite the heat haze!
