A Busy (And Wet) Wednesday Evening of Plane Spotting at Gladstone Airport

Jamie C has sent through some fantastic images from some late evening plane spotting at Gladstone Airport on Wednesday 23 January.

Shown above is Virgin Australia (Skywest Airlines) ATR 72-500 VH-FVU arriving as Advance Aviation Beech B200 King Air VH-WJK was preparing for take off.  VH-WJK is also pictured below taxiing for departure - it had arrived in Gladstone from Brisbane earlier in the day.

A couple of other King Air aircraft were spotted by Jamie during the evening, with Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Hawker Beechcraft B200 VH-FDA spotted departing to Brisbane as "FlyDoc 401".

Coastwings / Sutherland Aviation Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-WXC was also photographed.

QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXM is pictured departing as "Q-Jet 1713" to Brisbane in one of the numerous rain showers that passed over Gladstone during the day - although the rain isn't quite as bad as in North Queensland - yet!

Also, QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOF was photographed by Jamie as it departed Gladstone for Rockhampton as QLK2670 - which appears to be a positioning flight after it had earlier arrived in Gladstone on a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight from Brisbane.

Lastly, General Aviation Maintenance (GAM) AeroCommander 500-S VH-UJS was photographed as it prepared for departure to Rockhampton and Thangool / Biloela.

Thanks Jamie - these are truly fantastic images - your contributions will be missed!
