Bizjet Action Around Central Queensland Airports This Week

A busy week of corporate bizjet and turboprop aircraft movements this week in Central Queensland was highlighted by the visit of ZYB Lily Jet Bombardier BD-700-1A10 Global Express bizjet B-7699 which touched down at Hamilton Island Airport on Monday 11 February.   As mentioned in a previous post B-7699 arrived into Hamo from Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport, and on Thursday 14 February, it departed for Cairns and Hong Kong as MZT9104.

Another overseas registered bizjet that has now popped into Mackay twice in as many weeks is Raytheon 390 Premier 1 N7088S. The little bizjet first popped into Mackay last week before departing for Brisbane.  It arrived back into Mackay on Sunday 10 February from Brisbane.  N7088S departed Mackay again for Brisbane on Thursday 14 February.

The final overseas registered bizjet to grace the skies over CQ was the Air Hawke's Bay (New Zealand) Cessna 510 Citation mustang ZK-LCA, which is really becoming a frequent visitor!  On Wednesday 13 February, ZK-LCA arrived into Longreach Airport from Archerfield before dawn, and after seemingly taking on fuel, departed later for Mount Isa.  Then in the early hours of Friday 15 February, ZK-LCA touched down at Emerald Airport also from Archerfield.

Of course, there has also been a wide range of local bizjets to pop into Central Queensland airports over the week.  While most of these bizjets are familiar visitors, one bizjet making its first visit to Central Queensland was MyJet Aviation (of Bendigo) Cessna 551 Citation II bizjet VH-JMM, which arrived at Biloela / Thangool Airport on Monday 11 February. VH-JMM departed to Kingaroy and then Toowoomba on Tuesday 12 February.

The Singapore Flying College Cessna 510 Citation Mustang VH-SQJ made a long awaited return to CQ, flying into Rockhanpton and Mackay Airports on Thursday 14 February as "Raffles 113".  We hope to see more of these cute little bizjets as they fly up and down the Queensland and New South Wales coasts on training flights out of their base at the Sunshine Coast Airport.

Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign VH-VPL arrived into Hamilton Island Airport from the Gold Coast  on Tuesday 12 February. Later in the day, VH-VPL departed to Sydney.

Edwards Coaches Cessna 525 Citation VH-KXL arrived into Emerald Airport from Cessnock on Wednesday 13 February.  Later in the day, VH-KXL returned to Cessnock.

JM Kelly Project Builders Cessna 550 Citation II VH-JMK flew Rockhampton to Brisbane and back on Thursday 14 February.

Lastly, one other familiar bizjet which has again passed through a few Central Queensland airports this week has been the Queensland  Police (Airwing) Cessna 560 Citation Ultra VH-PSU, which has been noted at Mackay, Rockhampton, and Bundaberg Airports this week.

I think it's also worth quickly mentioning a couple of interesting turbo-prop movements into CQ airports this week, including Argyle Charter's Pilatus PC-12/47 VH-WPH, which has been noted at Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Emerald, and Biloela / Thangool Airports this week.

FKG Air (Redjet Aviation) Hawker Beechcraft B200GT VH-FKB was noted arriving at Mackay Airport on Wednesday 13 February from Cairns. It later departed to Brisbane.

And lastly, Pearl Aviation (operating for AirServices Australia) Hawker Beechcraft B300 Super King Air VH-FIZ passed though Longreach Airport on Wednesday 13 February as "Auscal4 / ADA4".  It arrived from Mount Isa and later departed to Brisbane.

What a busy week!
