QantasLink Clearing a Backlog? Six Jets Land at Gladstone Airport for QantasLink on Monday

As well as their historic inaugural Sydney to Gladstone services touching down, Monday 4 March at Gladstone Airport was an extremely busy day for QantasLink with six jet services touching down from Brisbane.

Cobham Aviation-operated Boeing B717-200 aircraft operated the bulk of these, with VH-NXL pictured above touching down as QJE1702.  VH-NXL returned later in the day.

Also touching down at Gladstone during the day were VH-NXO (twice) and VH-NXR.

Later, Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-XWM was noted arriving into Gladstone as QLK2342.  It later departed back to Brisbane as QLK2343.

Incidentally, Jamie C caught QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOW touching down late in the day operating the airline's second service from Sydney to Gladstone - QLK2128.

Thanks to Jamie C who captured these fantastic images!

  1. QLink have started a 3rd line of 717 flying out of BNE. 2 daily services have been upgraded from Q400 to 717. The F100 replaced a Q400 that was u/s.
