Former Ansett Australia Cargo BAe 146-200QT VH-JJY Destroyed by Fire in Indonesia

Given our historic look back at the British Aerospace BAe 146 only last month comes sad news of the demise last week of one of the featured aircraft in the article (LINK HERE).  Former Ansett Air Freight / Ansett Australia Cargo BAe 146-200QT VH-JJY (cn E2113) was destroyed in a ground incident at Wamena Airport in Indonesia.

The BAe 146 was operated by Nusantara Air Charter and carrying the registration of PK-JKC.  It had just completed a daily freight flight carrying fuel supplies from Jayapura to Wamena.  PK-JKC had reached its parking position, was shut down and being unloaded at around when one of the fuel drums caught fire and set the airplane ablaze.
