Some Plane Spotting Photos from Gladstone Airport on Friday

As mentioned below, Gladstone Airport played host to a couple special arrivals on Friday 7 June in the form of Pel Air / Regional Express (REX) SAAB 340A and Corporate Aviation Bell 429 helicopter VH-EQP.

Local plane spotters Jamie C and Tash C - as well as Kyresha C - captured some fantastic images of the SAAB and the immaculately presented corporate helicopter.

Of note, the Bell 429 VH-EQP arrived from its Gold Coast base and later departed to Hamilton Island.

Another big Bell helicopter in the form of Bell 222 VH-HBA was captured by Jamie and Kyresha as it departed and headed North for Mackay where it was heard to be headed to the Solomon Islands.  Not much more is known about the recently registered helicopter, and eagle-eyed readers will note that the chopper's registration is a little hard to see on the fuselage.

On the commercial scene at Gladstone Airport on Friday 7 June, QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXR was captured departing Gladstone's Runway 10 for Brisbane as QJE1709.

Virgin Australia Regional Airlines ATR 72-600 VH-FVP was also captured by Kyresha as it taxiied out for departure also bound for Brisbane but as VOZ1714.

Lastly, on the lighter side at Gladstone Airport on Friday 7 June, Gympie-registered Cessna 172 VH-CXW was spotted departing for parts unknown.

As did Caboolture-registered Piper PA28-180 VH-RQK which was also captured departing.

A great coverage by three very enthusiastic plane spotters who are also superb photographers!  Sincere thanks for sharing your images with us all!
