ex Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (CHRS) / Jayrow Helicopters Sikorsky S-76A Helicopter VH-JRD Departs Rockhampton

Long time Rockhampton Airport resident and familiar sight in Central Queensland skies, Sikorsky S-76A helicopter VH-JRD has recently departed Rockhampton for good.

VH-JRD is owned by Jayrow Helicopters in Victoria, but as we all know, had been flying for the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service (CHRS) based at Rockhampton Airport.

I recently spotted a very different VH-JRD at Rockhampton Airport - devoid of all titles and stickers - and being prepared for its eventual departure back to Victoria.

VH-JRD departed Rockhampton last Thursday 18 July for Hervey Bay, the Gold Coast and Port Macquarie where it remained overnight.  On Friday 19 July, VH-JRD continued South from Port Macquarie to Mudgee, Albury, and evenutally Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne.

The fate of VH-JRD is not certain with some suggestion that its time in Australia is limited.
