Military Exercise Talisman Saber 2013: Also Calling in to Rockhampton Airport over the last Couple of Days

Local plane spotters Don W, ‘IAD’ , Ash B and Ben O have sent through more magnificent photos of the visiting United States Navy aircraft to call into Rockhampton over the last weekend.

Spotted on a foggy morning by Don W on Saturday 6 July was United States Navy (USN) Boeing C-40A Clipper (B737-7AFC) 165834 / JV-834 of the VR-58 Fleet Logistics Support Squadron.  It had arrived the previous evening, and departed later on Saturday, again as "Convoy 7481".

Then on Sunday 7 July, ‘IAD’ spotted the United States Navy (USN) Lockheed C-130T Hercules - serial 165314 - coded JW5314 - of the VR-62 Fleet Logistic Unit.  It too had arrived the previous evening.

Ash then captured some spectacular photos of 165314 as it departed Rockhampton for the North as “Convoy 7101”.

Lastly on Monday 8 July, United States Navy (USN) Boeing C-40A Clipper (B737-7AFC) 165834 returned to Rockhampton Airport.

After off-loading its cargo, the C-40A departed to the North.

Thanks to the Rocky spotters for sending through their great photos!
