Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-700(BBJ) A36-001 and A36-002 at Rockhampton and Gladstone Airports Tuesday

A spectacular day of plane spotting at Rockhampton Airport on Tuesday 16 July came to a thrilling conclusion with the arrival of both Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-700(BBJ) bizjet aircraft A36-001 and A36-002 during the afternoon.

Local plane spotter ‘IAD’ captured some fantastic images as Prime Minister Kevin Rudd arrived on A36-001 from Townsville as ASY307.

Later, A36-002 arrived into Rockhampton from the South as EVY46.

Local plane spotters Don W and Ash B captured some rather unique images of both BBJ’s parked on the Southern end of the Rockhampton Airport apron.

After a series of meetings in Rockhampton, both aircraft departed in quick succession, with A36-002 departing for Brisbane, and A36-001 departing for Gladstone with Prime Minister Rudd, where local plane spotters Jamie C, Tash C and Michael F captured yet more superb images of the RAAF BBJ.

After dropping off Prime Minister Rudd for the night at Gladstone, A36-001 departed back to Townsville.  As Mr Rudd is still in Gladstone, it is assumed that A36-001 will be back at Gladstone today to collect him!

Thanks to the Rockhampton and Gladstone plane spotters for sending through these great images!
