More Great Photos of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Bell Boeing MV-22B Ospreys at Rockhampton Airport on Sunday

Local plane spotter and self-confessed military 'nut' Ben O has sent through some of his fantastic photos of the two United States Marine Corps (USMC) Bell Boeing MV-22B Osprey tilt-rotar aircraft which were noted at Rockhampton Airport over last weekend.

As mentioned in Blog Posts below, the two Ospreys were 168217 / EP-01 and 168032 / EP-09, which are both of the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (VMM-265) "Dragons".

168217 / EP-01 was believed to have had maintenance issues, and was photographed by Ben on Sunday 25 August as it departed from and later returned to Rockhampton Airport on a local test flight.

Later, Ben was able to capture a rather unique photograph showing Osprey 168032 / EP-09 with its tilt rotors folded up.

Both 168217 / EP-01 and 168032 / EP-09 were due to depart Rockhampton Airport late on Sunday 25 August, however they eventually departed in quick succession for Cairns on Monday 26 August.

Sincere thanks to Ben for sending through his fantastic photos of such unique aircraft to visit Central Queensland.
