A Christmas Present to you – A Photo Montage from Gladstone Airport on Sunday 22 December

Local plane spotters Jamie C and Tash C have sent through some wonderful photos of just about every single aircraft to move at Gladstone Airport on Sunday 22 December.

The day started early with Alliance Airlines Fokker F-50 VH-FKY touching down in the industrial city operating a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flight from Brisbane.

VH-FKY joined fellow Alliance Fokker F-100 VH-XWT which had arrived the previous evening.

They also joined the visiting privately-owned Dassault Falcon 900EX bizjet N47EG that had arrived into Gladstone Airport the previous day.  Soon after, N47EG departed Gladstone for Sydney.

It returned in the early afternoon, again parking on the lower apron.

VH-XWT and then VH-FKY departed back to Brisbane.

QantasLink Dash-8-Q400s VH-QOT, VH-QOD, VH-QOB, VH-LQK, VH-QOE, VH-QOM, and VH-LQH were all noted at Gladstone Airport on Sunday 22 December.  They operated a mix of FIFO and commercial services between Brisbane and Sydney.

Meanwhile, Dash-8-Q300s VH-TQD and VH-TQZ were also spotted.

Cobham Aviation-operated Boeing B717-200 VH-NXQ also visited Gladstone twice operating for QantasLink.

Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) ATR 72s VH-FVI and VH-FVU operated scheduled services for Virgin Australia.

Perhaps the most spectacular arrival for the day was Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-YFQ which was operating a scheduled service from and back to Brisbane.

Jamie and Tash captured some spectacular images of VH-YFQ as it departed off Runway 10.

Finally, some local light visitors to Gladstone Airport on Sunday 22 December included the locally-based Australia by Seaplane De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver Mk1 Floatplane VH-IDO.

Bright and colourful Jabiru J-160 19-5099 was captured visiting the weekly Gladstone Aero Club gathering.

And locally-based Robinson R-44 VH-JWN called in briefly.

What a top day of plane spotting at Gladstone Airport!

We sincerely thank Jamie and Tash for sending through these awesome images, and hope that enjoy the photos!  We also hope you have a wonderful Christmas Day!
