Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VOM Pops into Gladstone Airport on a Busy Sunday!

A busy day at Gladstone Airport on Sunday 5 January was started by the visit of another big Boeing B737-800 into the industrial city.  This time it was Virgin Australia supplementing a scheduled service with the bigger jet aircraft.

Local plane spotter Michael F was on hand to capture some images of VH-VOM as it touched down from Brisbane as VOZ1711.  VH-VOM still wears the old Virgin Blue colour scheme - and still has a white nose cose!

After turning around, it departed back to Brisbane a little later as VOZ1714.

Gladstone Airport was a busy place on Sunday 5 January, with Corporate Aviation Bell 429 VH-EQP expected to return from Hamilton Island and onto its Southport home on the Gold Coast.

And finally, there were multiple Fly-in fly-out (FIFO) scheduled to touch down later in the afternoon from both Brisbane and Sydney.  There were Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100s and QantasLink Dash-8-Q400s due to arrive.
