Australian Army Sikorsky S-70A-9 Blackhawk Helicopter A25-203 and More at Gladstone Airport Tuesday

Local plane spotter Anthony S ventured to Gladstone Airport on Tuesday 6 May and was pleasantly surprised to see Australian Army Sikorsky S-70A-9 Blackhawk Helicopter A25-203 preparing for departure.

He reports that it departed to the South.

With his new camera in hand, Anthony then spent a bit of time at Gladstone Airport taking a few other photos of some of the comings and goings including some of the commercial arrivals into the industrial city on Tuesday 6 May, including Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) ATR 72-500 VH-FVH which touched down from Brisbane as VOZ1709.

A pair of QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200s were spotted by Anthony, with VH-NXI touching down as QJE1704 from Brisbane, and later, VH-NXK departing as QJE1957 to Brisbane.

And a pair of QantasLink Dash-8-Q400s, with VH-QOR touching down from Moranbah, following a positioning flight.

Also VH-QOU was spotted departing to Sydney as QLK2585 - believed to be a closed Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter.  It had earlier positioned to Gladstone from Roma.

Finally, on the lighter side, Anthony spotted Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-FDA departing to Brisbane as "FlyDoc 401".

And Papam Cessna 402B VH-RLX, which is a frequent visitor to Central Queensland performing aerial survey flights.

Some great photos from Anthony and we thank him sincerely for sharing his photos with us!
