A41-211 reportedly flew up from the South, and after performing the missed approach, it performed some air work over the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).  It was then later seen performing a missed approach at Maryborough Airport before flying on to RAAF Amberley Air Base.  The C-17A was heard to be using the radio callsign of "Stallion 67".

Meanwhile, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 A37-003 called back into Maryborough Airport later on Friday 23 May, again as "Envoy 11".  The little RAAF bizjet was noted at Maryborough earlier in the week on Wednesday 21 May.  A37-003 is flown by the VIP 34 Squadron in Canberra.
