Stunning Photos of the Army Blackhawks Ferrying Through Rockhampton Airport Recently

Over the last couple of week, various Central Queensland Airports have, at various times, played host six Australian Army Sikorsky S-70A-9 Blackhawk helicopters, which have ferried South from Townsville to Amberley and ultimately, Sydney.  This post focuses on the action at Rockhampton Airport as captured in stunning fashion by local plane spotter Phil M

Initially, Blackhawks A25-103 and A25-108 called into Rocky last Thursday 21 August.

Also on Thursday 21 August, A25-101 overflew Rocky and landed at Gladstone.

Then on Friday 22 August, A25-213 and A25-106 called into Rockhampton Airport.

And then finally this week on Tuesday 26 August, A25-111 called into Rocky from Townsville, with reports that "Barbarian" could be the last Blackhawk to depart Townsville.

Sincere thanks to Phil for allowing us to share these wonderful images of a fantastic, yet sad week, where we said farewell to the Blackhawk helicopter from Central and North Queensland skies.  Thanks mate!
