A Couple of King Airs - And More - Spotted at Mackay Airport

On Tuesday 2 September, a couple of nice corporate King Air aircraft were spotted at Mackay Airport.  The first to arrive was BAS Aviation Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-KJD which touched down early from Toowoomba.

VH-KJD departed back to Toowoomba mid-afternoon.

Also touching down at Mackay Airport a little later in the day from the Sunshine Coast was Toowoomba-based Beech B200 King Air VH-NME.

It was due to depart back to the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday 3 September.

Meanwhile, as mentioned below, last Friday 29 August, Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-XWN operated a scheduled service into Mackay on behalf of Virgin Australia.  It arrived as VOZ607 and is pictured below preparing for departure back to Brisbane as VOZ610.  Of interest, it then operated into Rockhampton later on Friday.

Finally, works on the Mackay Airport parking apron has caused a few issues, particularly around those busy periods, with aircraft being shuffled around the parking bays, and aircraft even parking on Gate 5 on the Northern end of the apron.  On Friday 29 August, Tigerair (Tiger Airways) Australia Airbus A320 VH-VND was pictured being carefully marshalled onto Gate 5 by two ground marshallers after arriving as TGW744 from Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport.

Thanks to the Mackay Spotters for their great photos!
