A Couple of Bizjet and Other Visitors at Hamilton Island Airport This Week

A few quiet days on Hamilton Island Airport this week - except for the latter part of the week when Hamo has been inundated by Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft - see Blog post coming above - with a couple of familiar bizjet visitors and some interesting 'additional' commercial movements.

On Monday 7 September, QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXR was noted operating an additional flight into Hamo from and back to Brisbane as QJE1722/1723.

Also on Monday, Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-VYD operated a charter in Hamilton Island as VOZ9003 from Melbourne (Tullamarine).  This operated in place of the VOZ1751 which was not scheduled. VH-YVD then operated the scheduled VA1756 service back to Melbourne.

VH-YVD returned to Hamilton Island on Friday 11 September from Melbourne on a positioning flight as VOZ9901.  It then operated the return leg of the charter back to Melbourne from Hamo as VOZ9000.

On Tuesday 8 September, Brenzil Dassault Falcon 7X bizjet VH-CRW was noted arriving into Hamilton Island Airport from Cairns.  It later departed 'home' to Brisbane.

Also on Tuesday 8 September, an unidentified Hinterland Aviation Cessna 310 operated into Hamilton Island Airport from and back to Cairns as HND467, while Austcopters Agusta A109SP corporate helicopter VH-XNR was believed to have called in from Townsville.

As mentioned below, Cirrus Generation 5 SR22T Special Edition: Australis N7YT touched down at Hamilton Island from Balina / Byron Gateway Airport and Rockhampton on Wednesday 9 September.  As it has turned out, this was one of around 30-40 Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft that have called into Hamo over the latter part of this week.

Then on Thursday 10 September, Balmoral Air (operated for Hamilton Island's owner, and well-known vineyard owner, Bob Oatley) Dassault Falcon 2000LX bizjet VH-WIO called in for a few hours, arriving from and later departing back to Bankstown.

Finally, on Friday 11 September, in amoungst all the Cirrus arrivals, Agile Aviation (of South Australia) Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-TCP arrived at Hamilton Island from Adelaide and Melbourne (Moorabbin) Airport.
