Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Raytheon B200 King Air VH-FDB Hits a Kangaroo Landing at Barcaldine Airport Last Week

In the wee small hours of last Wednesday 2 September, Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Raytheon B200 King Air VH-FDB was believed to have hit a kangaroo while landing at Barcaldine Airport after operating a med-evac flight from Townsville.

Consequently, VH-FDB "FlyDoc 412" has remained parked at Barcaldine receiving attention, however, on Tuesday 8 September, VH-FDB ferried back to Rockhampton.

This incident came a day after Toll Freight Metro 23 VH-HPE sustained damage when it too collided with a large kangaroo at Biloela / Thangool Airport early on Tuesday 1 September.

The Metro had just arrived as TFX110 on the early morning weekday freight flight from Brisbane to Emerald via Biloela / Thangool.  VH-HPE seems to have sustained enough damage to still keep the Metro grounded at Bilo.
