Some Interesting Visitors to Longreach Airport Over the Weekend - Alliance F-70 VH-JFB - REX SAAB 340 VH-ZLF - Careflight LearJet VH-VVI

Aside from the 'usual' arrivals, I noted with interest some other special aircraft called into Longreach Airport on Friday 4 September.

Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-JFB called in from Brisbane as UTY580, while Pel Air / Regional Express (REX) SAAB 340B VH-ZLF also called in from Brisbane but as PFY9362.

Then on Saturday 5 September, VH-ZLF departed to Birdsville, Charleville and Brisbane again as PFY93629363.

VH-JFB eventually departed back to Brisbane during the afternoon on Sunday 6 September as UTY581.

One other significant movement into Longreach Airport on Saturday 5 September was Careflight Queensland (Aeromed) LearJet 45 bizjet VH-VVI, which called into Longreach from Brisbane and Winton.  It later departed back to the capital.  It was again noted using its 'usual' med-evac callsign of "Ambulance 451".

Meanwhile, other light General Aviation (GA) visitors to Longreach over the weekend included:  Hawker Beechcraft C90GTi King Air VH-JJU departed to its Cloncurry base, Piper PA-28R-200 Cherokee VH-LFP arrived from its Mackay base, Royal Queensland Aero Club Cessna 206 VH-NCR visited from Roma, Brisbane-based Partenavia P.68B VH-IYI called in from Mount Isa and departed to Redcliffe after heading West to Mount Isa in late August, New South Wales-based Cessna 172 VH-KII arrived from Birdsville and departed to Saint George, and as reported below, WA-based Cessna R182 VH-OMV arrived from Hamilton Island after completing the 2015 Steadfast Foundation Outback Air Race (SOAR).

Finally, on Thursday 3 September, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Beech B350 Super King Air A32-671 was noted departing Longreach Airport for Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) Airport on what looked to be yet another training flight as "Dingo 57".  It looked to depart from Prosie to Townsville.
