Queensland Government (QGAir) Rescue Agusta AW139 Helicopter VH-EZJ at Gladstone and Mackay Airports Tuesday

Just over a month after ferrying South, Queensland Government (QGAir) Rescue Agusta AW139 helicopter VH-EZJ has returned North to Cairns from Archerfield on Tuesday 13 October, flying via Gladstone, Mackay and Townsville Airports.

And information suggests that soon after it arrived in Cairns, VH-EZJ was put straight into work flying a med-evac mission to Mossman Hospital and back to Cairns Base Hospital as "Rescue 510".

Given that the QGAir rescue helicopters ferry North and South through Central Queensland as a part of a 'rotational system' - reportedly designed to ensure the even distribution of flying hours on each of their helicopters, thus avoiding the need to have multiple helicopters offline for simultaneous scheduled maintenance - it would be expected that another QGAir Rescue helicopter (possibly Agusta AW139 VH-ESZ) will ferry South back to Archerfield in the coming days.
