Former New Zealand-Based BN-2A-27 Islander Delivered to Torres Strait Air via Rockhampton and Mackay Airports

An interesting arrival into Rockhampton and Mackay Airports on Wednesday 11 November was Torres Strait Air's recently acquired Pilatus Britten-Norman BN-2A-27 Islander VH-TRS.

The Islander was ferrying North to Torres Strait Air's Horn Island base from Archerfield via Rockhampton, Mackay and Cairns (where it is pictured above).

Some research shows that VH-TRS was previously operated in New Zealand by Air Chathams Ltd as ZK-LYP and it was noted flying into Archerfield from Auckland, Lord Howe Island and the Gold Coast in early October.  VH-TRS has even spent time operating in Tonga as A3-LYP with the Islander returning to New Zealand in 2013.
