Australia Skydive (Skydive the Beach Group) Cessna 208B Caravan Calls into Emerald Airport

I've spent the weekend at Emerald for cricket commitments and managed to enjoy a bit of plane spotting at Emerald Airport on Friday 15 January.  One of the more interesting visitors that I managed to capture was Australia Skydive (Skydive the Beach Group) Cessna 208B Caravan VH-DVS.

VH-DVS has for the last week or so operated parachute flights out of Tully in Far North Queensland and ferried up via Roma the previous Sunday 10 January from the Illawarra Regional Airport in New South Wales.

On Friday 15 January VH-DVS flew into Emerald from Cairns and continued to Toowoomba and the Illawarra Regional Airport.

Meanwhile, a couple of other plane spotting photos from Emerald Airport on Friday 15 January included QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOW which is shown arriving from Brisbane as QLK2406. This was its second visit for the day.

And later in the day Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 jet VH-QQV was captured arriving from Brisbane as UTY4066.

This last photo was taken from a large vacant area to the South-West of Emerald Airport where aircraft on very short finals for Runway 06 pass close by.  Views of the Airport itself are also available, along with a relatively unobstructed view of aircraft back-tracking and lining up for departure also from Runway 06.
