A Nice Pair of Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 Jets - VH-ZPO & VH-ZPQ - at Gladstone Airport Wednesday

The run of Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 jets operating into Gladstone Airport on scheduled service from and back to Brisbane continued in spectacular fashion on Wednesday 9 March as two of the 'jungle jets' touched down.

VH-ZPO initially visited operating the early morning VOZ1707/1710 service.

Then mid-morning, VH-ZPQ touched down operating the VOZ1709/1712 service.

It will be interesting to see what happens over the coming months with Virgin Australia aircraft servicing Gladstone given that the airline has commenced its recently announced withdrawal from service of five of their Embraer E-190 regional jets.  The fleet of 98-seat regional jets is set to be reduced to 13 - from 18 currently - by September 2016.  We hope that we may see more of the larger Boeing B737-800 jets servicing the port city!

Sincere thanks to Col for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
