Heli-Central Bell 206B Helicopter VH-WHU Down After Wirestrike While Crop-Spraying at Carmila near Mackay

On Friday 25 March, Heli-Central operated Bell 206B VH-WHU was involved in a fatal accident while completing crop spraying operations at Carmila West (81 km south of Mackay).

The helicopter struck powerlines before colliding with terrain. The pilot was fatally injured and the helicopter was destroyed by post-impact fire.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has launched an investigation and are seeking witnesses to the accident.  Witnesses are asked to call the ATSB on 1800 020 616.
