QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) B717-200 VH-YQT Operates Final Direct Sydney Service to Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport

On Sunday 7 August, the final Qantas / QantasLink direct service from Sydney to Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport was flown by Cobham Aviation Boeing B717-200 VH-YQT.

Both Saturday services - usually operated by a QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 - and Sunday jet services direct from Sydney to Hervey Bay have been cut with passengers now forced to connect through Brisbane.

The move is a part of a re-vamp of Qantas / QantasLink Boeing B717-200 services which has also seen some services to Coffs Harbour dropped and other services introduced including to Townsville and Mount Isa from Brisbane.

More about the changes can be read on two recent articles posted by Australian Aviation:  QantasLink Ending Melbourne-Coffs Harbour and Sydney-Hervey Bay Flights and Qantas Expands 717 Domestic Network.
