Exercise Wallaby 2016 - Second Wave of Heavy Jet Charters to Rockhampton Airport Commence - New Air New Zealand B787-9 Dreamliner ZK-NZJ Calls In

Late on Saturday 1 October, the second 'wave' (of four) heavy jet charter flights in support of the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2016 kicked off with Air New Zealand's brand new Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner ZK-NZJ touching down direct from Singapore's Changi Airport as ANZ1921.  It had earlier positioned into Singapore from Auckland as ANZ6000.

Local plane spotters 'IAD' and Kayanne H were on hand to capture some nice photos as the Dreamliner touched down in the beef capital.

ZK-NZJ departed back to Singapore in the very early hours of Sunday 2 October as ANZ6002.  It is then expected to turn around and head back to Rockhampton Airport as ANZ1923 where it will touch down in the evening on Sunday 2 October.

Also touching down at Rockhampton Airport, along with ZK-NZJ, will be Air New Zealand Boeing B777-200 (currently showing on flight tracking wesbites as ZK-OKE).  It will also be flying into Rocky direct from Changi.

Sincere thanks to 'IAD' and Kayanne H for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
