The Roulettes are one of many RAAF and privately owned aircraft that are heading North via Central Queensland to Townsville to participate in the T150 Defence Force Air Display and Open Day this weekend. Maryborough was very lucky to have been selected by The Roulettes as not only a stop-over point, but to have the ultimate privilege of having the precision aerobatic team put on a spectacular display.
As these photos taken by David G of locally-based Maryborough Aviation Services show, The Roulettes are supported on their trip to Townsville by both Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Search and Rescue (SAR) Sikorsky S-76A helicopter VH-LHZ "Choppa 4" (which is owned by Lloyd Helicopters and operated by CHC Helicopters Australia) and RAAF Beech B350 Super King Air A32-350.
Word around Maryborough Airport late on Wednesday indicate that The Roulettes and their support aircraft should call into Gladstone Airport for fuel mid-morning on Thursday 13 October before continuing North during the day.
Sincere thanks to David for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
