Maryborough-based IAI 1124A Westwind II Bizjet VH-IER Pops into Bundaberg Airport and then Departs to Illawarra

On Sunday 14 May, Maryborough-based Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) 1124A Westwind II bizjet VH-IER was on the move, calling into Bundaberg Airport before departing to the Illawarra Regional Airport at Wollongong.

As we reported last year, VH-IER, which has now been re-registered to Capital Jet Resources at Maryborough, arrived into Maryborough Airport in mid-July 2016 from Wollongong.  It is believed to have returned to Wollongong to undergo some planned maintenance.

On the Maryborough Aviation Services Facebook page, the announcement was made last year that the Westwind would be housed, maintained and operated from Maryborough Airport.

VH-IER - which as suggested by its 'InflightER' titles - is fully kitted out as a specialist medical retrieval and evacuation (med-evac) aircraft.  In fact the name worn by the aircraft - 'InflightER' - is literally short for 'InFlight Emergency Room'.

More information about 'InflightER' - as well as some great images of their Westwind at work - can be found at their website:  http://www.inflighter.com.au/
