Re-Branded Hevilift Australia (Rotary Wing) Helicopters - Sikorsky S-76 VH-IQG & Bell 206 VH-IQY - Call into Charters Towers Airport

A couple of interesting helicopters were noted visiting Charters Towers Airport on Sunday 7 May while seemingly ferrying from Cairns to Western Australia.  Both helicopters look to have been recently brought to Australia and registered to Hevilift Australia (Rotary Wing).  This looks to be a 're-branding' of (what I thought was Papua New Guinea-based) Hevilift.

Perhaps the nicest of the two choppers was Sikorsky S-76C helicopter VH-IQG.  It flew into Charters Towers from Cairns and Townsville.  It was then spotted arriving into Alice Springs in the Northern Territory on Monday 8 May with reports it was heading to Western Australia.

The Sikorsky looked to arrive into Australia via Cairns in July 2016 and was spotted (above) at Cairns Airport in August 2016 soon after it was re-registered from PK-FUL of Hevilift Indonesia.

Back at Charters Towers Airport, also on Sunday 7 May, VH-IQG looked to be joined by fellow newly-registered Hevilift Australia Bell Helicopter Textron 206L-1 VH-IQY.

The Long-ranger looks to have previously been registered to Hevilift Papua New Guinea (PNG) as P2-HCC.

Details are limited on the exact movements of these two helicopters but they look great and we hope to see them back in Central Queensland again soon!
